Just tried the first release of Frank Family Petite Sirah, vintage 2010. Used to only be used as a blending agent w/their Cabs. Great structure with balance fruits, tannins, and acid. Blackberry, blueberry, red currants, and fig. A real teeth stainer. A gift from Richard Frank himself. 12.19.13.

Superb, perfectly aged, very mellow with restrained fruit - getting blueberry - not dissimilar to an aged Bordeaux

Deep ruby color, gasoline smell on the nose? Plum, spice, fairly medium plus tannins, not super acidic. Pairing with a meatlovers pizza, hopefully it goes well!

Dark, inky. High alcohol (14.5%) but not as high as many Napa PS. Tannins are integrated & good black fruit.
