I found this a Lois’ Natural food store in Portland, ME (still a few bottles there if you’re seeking this wine out. We drank this with a succotash of fresh Rhode Island produce at our Harriman State Park campsite in New York. This wine is f*cking delicious! I also understand this isn’t for all wine drinkers.

Leads with a tingly raspberry/wildberry note, but that immediately gives way to strong, strong umami, really reminiscent of beef jerky. Smoked meat, big time. Ashy and volcanic with plenty of stewed berry fruit goodness.

I hate to love trendy wines like this but honestly it’s very good. Maybe a little overpriced but it’s worth trying a bottle. A light red with solid tannins and a very smoky, tar like finish that doesn’t overpower the fruit. I would drink at slightly cooler than cellar temp but not chilled as you will be missing out on the clove and spice.

I missed you, I missed you, I missed you: I missed the sound of your voice and the way it rings in my head like the last convulsive hums of a tambourine. I missed our shared particular tastes. I missed how the cold air feels filling my warm lungs. I missed the iron that reminds me of drinking thirsty at an old water fountain when I used to look after horses. I missed the whiffs of wild cherry bushes that stung our hands with their thorns and stung our mouths with their fruit. An endless list of things I missed but most of all I missed you.

Very interesting and tasted good, but not worth the hype in my opinion.
