There's a lot of great stuff going on on Etna right now. Cherries, earth, rose and forest berries combine in this midweight, gorgeous wine. Served blind and nobody got close. Superb paired with excellent pastas at Maialino.

Light to medium bodied Nerello Mascalese. Still catching up with my Sicilian tasting notes from a few weeks ago. Earthy, cherries and coming from Mt Etna minerality to the max. Many similarities to a Pinot Noir particularly as regards palate weight. Strikes the right balance to the lighter NMs we had a few days earlier on Mt Etna.
