clearly viognier, a bit oaky now, worth waiting before opening

Sep 14th, 20132011v. Very deep yellow/light orange color. On the nose, toasty oak, apricot, and orange marmalade. On the palette, the apricot hits your tongue and then the wine finishes a little dry. 100% viognier, which means it's a lighter bodied than a chard even though it has some of those oaked flavors. 13% ABV. I preferred this winemaker's "Le Grand Vallon" viognier, which had brighter tropical fruit and a longer finish (although more oak than some might prefer).

Mar 14th, 2017Celebration wine! Passed the level 1 Somm exam. Good dose of tropical fruit, low acidity, liking this viognier!
