and a point of view—that grows with circumstance—or just good chardonnay on a sunday afternoon?

@domainemikulski isn’t your average bourgogne blanc, and of all the burgundy we got to taste at @gunterseegerny, the ‘11 meursault charmes stands out. this isn’t that—entry level, fraction of the price, young—but its elegance, concentration, richness, and hi-fi overtones speak the same vernacular, same “extraordinary gift for hope,” that nick said of gatsby.

One of the most underrated producers in Burgundy. Drink everything you can find by him. Lovely balance between richness and mineral structure here.

First intro to Mikulski and I can see why people say he's got some of the best appellation level burg. Vineyards within the limits of Mersault, avg vine age of close to 30 years. Slightly oxidative nose, nutty, lemongrass and citrus. Palate has a perfect weight and balance, everything coming together especially as it warms. Slight cream, nice wine.

François Mikulski is a very well known and respected producer in Mersault, and even the fruit in this Borgogne Chardonnay is fruit from vineyards on his property in Mersault. Very classic and clean, and drinks like lighter less complex Mersault - hazelnut, golden apple, mineral, lemon peel, and a touch of light butter and creme. Clean, good vin, crystal acidity and clarity.
Thanks

Mikulski is the most underrated white producer in all of burgundy. There, I said it. 35 bucks. With quality that equals roulot, ramonet, and the like any day of the week. Sesame Halvah, fresh lemon juice, ripe nectarines. Utter deliciousness.

Bright as a button, quite tight and compact. Broadens on the palate to hint at Meursault generosity, with clean fruit. A little shy on the finish.
