Francois Lurton is the 5th generation of his family to be in the wine business in France, as their winemaking roots date back to 1897. Dark red with black fruit aromas with sweet tones. On the soft palate flavors of strawberry and cherry emerge slowly with white pepper spice. Firm yet approachable tannins, medium ending with sweet spice finish. Nice value. Tasting Sample.

Sample from #CapeClassics.
Medium ruby red with a dark core. Elegant nose with lots of perfumed notes like rose petals, and lavender. Over a half hour or so it started to open up with some savory herbs and soft red cherries. Low tannins (4/10) with balanced acidity. Very soft and elegant on the palate as well with more red cherries and slight tanginess before the finish. Day two the finish got a little metallic. Light body and dry medium finish. Very drinkable Syrah-based blend, not very complex but not flat either. Solid value for only $12.99. Drink till 2018.

Slightly acidic, easy-drinking red. Not very full-bodied so good in the moment but you won't remember it forever

Rather thin and diluted with little varietal character. A hint of volatile acidity takes it down a peg.
