Clos Saint Michel Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhone Blend

This is a very tasty Grenache blend from from Châteauneuf-du-Pape.

Showing red and black fruits with light wood, spices, coffee, tobacco, dark chocolates and peppercorn.

Medium plus in body with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate and fruit forward.

This 8 year old is peaking now.

Nice finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.

14.5% alcohol by volume.

Medium bodied Red rhone wine. Flavors of peppery herbs, new leather and cured-meat like aromas flavors. Tannins is well-managed and outstanding flavors of concentrated raspberry, spice. Need to open two hours prior to drinking. Do not decanter.

Bretty, raisinated Grenache aromas dominate this youngster. Good acid-to-tannin ratio, should be lovely with time. From magnum.

Strong garrigue (sage and lavender dominate the herbal components), black pepper, and mineral aromas. Tinges of green tobacco, pink peppercorns, and dried chilies. Definitely one of the best GSMs I've had.

Ripe red fruit, dark cherry, medium bodied with a fairly bright acidity. Plenty of leather, some oak, and hints of a funky earthiness. Would go well with a ripe blue cheese. Lively pairing with a ribeye and sweet potatoes. Would do well aging for a few more years to mellow the acidity.

Needed some time before opening. Too young.
