Got ahead of the Valentines Day foolishness, and fired up a nice dinner ahead of time. Matched up my scallops and sweet corn with an awesome Chardonnay from Foxtrot (stumpy vineyard). Partially oaked, it was well balanced. Fresh and full. Great pairing.

As far as you can be from California chardonnays without leaving north America. Subtle, light and complex. Long on the palate. No trace of oak - thank goodness.
