2016 vintage - heavy handed on the oak tannins a little disjointed with the fruit (seemed it of balance ) would have liked to see the character without the overwhelming oak character

Black cherry, strawberry, and cassis fruit, with a little oak, wet stone, and earth. Tannins low-moderate, but it's also a little tart and alcoholic, so I think it would benefit from a little more fruit. Still and all, it's a decent table wine.

Interesting wine. Cab franc is one of my fave varietals as it can change so much as it opens. Initially I got cassis, violets and petrol on nose. An hour later it mellowed with more cassis standing out. I hope to try this wine again.
