La Rousse Vineyard Syrah

Great #syrah #wine from #SonomaCounty. Dark olive opaque color, deep blue. Not veru fragrant, even with time open. Palate is much more satisfying with light body, good acid, quick sharp tannin. All around character is there, but quick in each regard. Hoping for more lasting attributes. Opened 12/9/17

New world done old world style. Still get notes of American oak, med tannin, very well balanced

Tasty wine. Earthy, with some truly CA signs of Syrah. Old world influence with new world flair. Very good with a lighter meal.

Concentrated, needs a strong food.

Found it in the basement. Not a bad wine at all. Minerals and a little blackberry.

Espresso, mocha and plum. Yum.

Big, rich structure with lots of savory Syrah character and dark fruit.

Too juicy for my taste. Hints of smokiness always suggests for me hiding the deficiency of grape or process. 2012 vintage.

Armpit wine. I like a little funk but this was over the top
