Bright. Juicy. Nice to taste domestic Barbera that's happy to be its own thing. Neither ripened past the necessary acidity, nor trying too hard to be Piemontese, this is a great example of letting the grape and the site shine through into the glass.

Violets and brambly fruit make for an interesting and delicious "take" on Barbera. The restrained alcohol allowed me to enjoy the wine's subtleties without interference.

Part two of fun comparison. Super authentic Barbera. This one is lighter in color, nose is more open immediately, and still more accessible on day two. Bright acidity, needs food!
