👃👅 Similar notes to day 1. The round profile & silky texture make this very enjoyable. Soft tannins & balancing acidity are also included. Cherry, blueberry, chocolate & tobacco + spice & lightly stewed fruit. So easy to drink👍
I don’t see any reason to wait longer on this 07. The tannins are primetime and there is plenty of complexity and interesting flavors right now. Drink away! 🍷🍷

Part of a tasting of 2007 Tuscans held a week ago. I’m not really sure what to make of this wine. It was more advanced in color and on the nose than any of the other wines when it was initially decanted. That was despite the fact that the cork was in great shape and the wine had been stored in appropriate conditions since release. Most of the folks in the room found this wine to be in the bottom of the group, and I agree. It seemed to be putting on weight and improving somewhat by the end of the tasting, which was 5+ hours after decanting. Perhaps it just needed more air and would have shown better with additional time to come around. Again, I’m not sure what to think but was disappointed in this showing.
