Dec 25th, 2017Little rust at edges. Nice tea leaf & tobacco nose. Smooth, tasty fruit. Pleasantly surprised. #wtso #paiagallo 1998 #fontanafredda

Sep 30th, 2018Elegant with notes of tea on the nose. Comparable to previous descriptions. Excellent upon opening but does do well with decanting. Perfect when paired with Parmesan cheese course, seared spicy calamari and baked lemon parsley wild cod.

Dec 24th, 2017Beautiful. Roses, tar and balsamic with leather and crackling acidity and velvety tannins. Really great for 18 years. Decanted 1 hour.

Sep 12th, 2016Mild nose opening up as dirt, hints of licorice, cherry. More fruit on the palate, thin and mild/delicate flavor profile but medium finish and all around enjoyable/well balanced old world, aged style

Jun 3rd, 2016Very nice. Drank slowly over a couple hours and it opened up and softened during that time. Initial mouth coating tannins gave way to bright red fruit and earthiness.
