Clear garnet color. Nose of clove and blackberry. Acidic and very dry. Strong tannins. Flavors of rhubarb, celery root, and very tart raspberries.

Jan 11th, 2020I don't know why none mentioned a strong and sweet currant nose (blackcurrant or red currant - I won't argue). It striked me hard. The rest: a subtle leather, The palate is mild, I expected some pepper, but I found a chocolate. The finish is short. A nice beginning of the New Year's Eve.

Precisely paired, by accident!, with a whole chicken baked on the grill. This lighter body Tawny colored wine was delicious .. freshly picked vegetables from our Michigan garden rounded out a fabulous Friday evening meal.... cherry, forest scented air with a dry finish.
