Fonseca Port was founded in 1822 and successive generations of the Guimaraens family have upheld the Companyโs reputation. The Bin No. 27 was created over a century ago for family consumption, and only released commercially in 1972. Sits in large wood cats for 4 years. Rich texture, ripe fruit flavors of blackberry and cherry. Smooth with good balance on lingering finish ending with a sweet fruit character and some spicy notes. Consistent quality y/o/y. Can be consumed over a few weeks. Tasting Sample.

Nov 6th, 2017Stewed dark fruit on the nose continue through to the palate. Sweet finish. Lacking the wow factor for me. Drink now or cellar for another 10 years.
