Foley Johnson
Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir

This is in what appears to be the current style for southern central coast PNs: on the savory side, with prominent stemmy and roasted herbal components, with fruit in a complementary role. Large framed and full flavored, with moderate complexity.
NIGHT 2: Way more Burgundian. Beautiful sappy cherry fruit shows through on the nose and palate, and some minerality pops in the finish. Bumping it from a 9.0 to a 9.2. Air this puppy out!

Tasty, mellow, smooth, subtle. Good but a little small.

A really beautiful Pinot Noir from Sta. Rita Hills. Bing cherry, raspberry, chocolate and dried herbs. Poured a little into New Year's beef Burgundy. Yum!

Vibrant pinot, ripe with fruit. Great everyday drinker.

Smoky California fruit. Relative good acidity for CA. Well made I prefer Burgundies or Pinot from Germany but this ohne was OK.

Silky and delicious. Was wonderful with a roasted pork tenderloin.
