Day 3 in Napa in the books! Running a day behind on notes...Napa time runs slow AND fast!

Main reason we go out this time of year each year...the Flora Springs Trilogy Release Party! This was our 5th year in a row to attend. For comparison sake, this is less acidic than ‘15, but more structured than ‘14. Close to ‘13 in style. Trilogy style with fig, nutmeg, espresso, mainly black fruit, & a small dollop of floral/violet notes.

Bright cherry, cassis, plum, sage. Soft tannins with a touch of acid. Medium length finish.

If there’s one red blend I’ve grown increasingly fond of over the years, it’s Trilogy. Earlier today while at my desk at work I found myself salivating as I read @Shay A ‘s latest notes from the recent release party. Denying my taste buds the pleasure of consuming this seductive juice would be tantamount to treason of the senses: I had to acquire some. And acquire some I did. Already looking forward to trying the 2017 eventually.

This 2016 has a beautiful nose: creme de cassis, Luxardo cherries, mocha, dark chocolate, licorice, plums, blackberries, and baking spices. Lovely mouthfeel that coats the palate with plush tannins.

7/19. As good as the 2015 vintage. Bold and full of flavor.
