Fisher Vineyards
Mountain Estate Vineyard Chardonnay
Pale lemon with aromas of ripe fruits with blossom and biscuit notes. On the palate flavors of ripe apples, sweet pears, peach and pineapple, some spice with a creamy edge. Medium+ finish, good acidity balance ending with a toasty mineral character.

Aug 22nd, 2022Leesy, buttery with a nutty note. Velvety mouthfeel. Dry finish. 14.5%. High end cougar juice. Not your mommy’s Rombauer.

Dec 14th, 2020Broke my mid-week alcohol fast for this...
Nose displays honey, straw and oak. First thing that hits you on the palate is honied almonds and white stone fruits. A little too much oak treatment leads to a lack of precision. It has a curvy posture, with very little acid to counterbalance the oak. Good showing, even though the oak monster showed its ass. At the right price, it’s a buy.

Barrel fermented in cave. Robust, leesy, pure.

Aug 22nd, 2018I just read AG’s notes on the 16 vintage, and he’s nailed some characteristics that I detected, but couldn’t find the nouns to describe them. He identified camomile and apricot, which are bang on. Showing much better than my prior tasting, this is lithe, yet somewhat bold. Finishes with exotic fruits and marzipan. Moderate acidity complete what is an excellent presentation, soft and round, as opposed to focused and steely.

1 person found it helpfulFeb 24th, 2020Damn good Napa Cab. Trying to become more acquainted with specific AVAs, but not familiar with this one. Tremendous balance of acid and tannin. Extraordinary harmony and depth. The finesse here cannot be overstated.

May 26th, 2017If Chardonnay was playing "Anything But Chardonnay" in hockey this would be the enforcer (clad in Chanel). This is a punch you in the face butter and oak style, but clearly mountain-reared, with an infectious, herbaceous, rough around the edges personality. Grilled tropical fruit, expensive artisanal brioche, and Jamie Oliver's poached pears wave a high stick.
