Impenetrably dark at the center, only the rim is translucent with glints of Quinacridone violet when held up to the light. Firriato's Harmonium 2010 is Nero d'Avola at it's best, with expressive notes of plum and blackberry, wood spice and baking spice, graphite and cedar. Fresh and energetic, it has a pleasantly firm acidic backbone which contrasts nicely to deep, resonant layers of black fruit, espresso, cracked black pepper and a curious, slight metallic note on the finish, the only possible detractor.

辛口だが中位から旨味が。フルボディで香りが甘く素晴らしい。

Firriato ‘Harmonium’ Nero D’Avola 2008: Dark smooth goodness with a symphony of fruity flavors! After numerous years and a few east coast & cross country moves (and most likely improper storage courtesy of my wife!), this wine has finally been opened! Definitely was well worth the wait. Starts off as strawberries dipped in gasoline (in a good way) but the taste is cedar, leather and raspberry jam. Smoother than it looks.

Dec 10th, 2020Beautiful hints of black plums and cedar on the nose. Tastes of dark plums, blackberries and dark cherries with hints of baking spices and black pepper accented by minerality and earthiness. A very nice Nero D’Avola.
