Hm. Thought for a second it might have gone "off" from the nose, which God help me, smelled a bit of wet dog. But the taste has notes of chocolate, almost pruney plums, and blackberries. Yum. Happy Malbec World Day, my fellow winos.

Plum jam nose, boysenberry and rich high altitude fruits. Small tannins help tie this Malbec together, as an easy going crowd pleasing wine. Drink young.

Wine #13 for our Advent Calendar. 2013 Malbec. Flavors of dried fruit, black pepper, nice tannins. Really good.

Dec 15th, 2016A bit sharper than the 2012. Spicy, but the pepper isn't quite as pronounced. Slightly brighter fruit. Still A tasty malbec, just...different. We'll see what a little time under VacuuVin does to it.
Update: VacuuVin, light breathing and age does it again. The sharp notes have faded, resulting in a nicely rounded, pleasant malbec. Huzzah technology! Bumping from 8.5 to 8.8.

Briary blackberry fruit, hints of herbs and a finish packed with tongue-stripping tannins and a whiff of cocoa. Not bad.
