An intriguing blend of indigenous grapes; Tintilla de Rota and Romé, with Syrah and Garnacha. This is a highly regarded wine and winery in Spain with many high marks from Spanish critics. It has a bit of a cult following here, but for people unfamiliar with this region (DO Sierras de Malaga) it may be a bit perplexing. Intense aromas of wet soil, spicy black pepper, sage, rosemary, and sweet, mature dark fruit. Powerful flavors of earth, mud and fruit on the palette with succulent acidity anchored by fixed yet smooth tannins. A medium long finish that is savory and sweet at the same time, a bit like a good teriyaki sauce! This is an unusual and exciting wine. I highly recommend but drink with an open mind!

Well that was an experience! Wanted to try this as it was a new region an interesting idea. Thick! Dark like my heart and heavy viscosity. A very jam and heavy grape flavor. You can tell that this is one of the southern most regions and Spain in which wine is made because of the incredibly dark concentrated flavors and aromas. Heavy deep rose and currant aromas and juicy very juicy plum and dark fruit jam flavors. Interesting to try, but a bit overwhelming even over the course of a few hours.

Slight carbonation. It did not present any off characters or sediment, but it was distracting. Not my favorite Sierra de Málaga wine
