Lemon oils and spring flowers combine with white peach as the 2023 Chenin opens in the glass. This is a beautifully balanced effort, with crisp orchard fruits, sour melon and crunchy mineral tones complemented by candied citrus. It finishes remarkably clean yet with admirable length. $25.00 (Eric Guido, Vinous, August 2024)

Clear brilliant sunlit yellow, easy on the eyes. Ripe Anjou pear and sour apple candy. The rind of a ripe honeydew; honeycomb, wax and all. Gravel wet with snow melt. Palate is marzapan and lemon meringue. Surprisingly rich at 11%

Grew on me immensely with food. Missing that trademark Loire acidity but lovely smells and flavors - white flowers, honeydew, white pear!

Served it at pizza night as a beautiful introduction for our customers to natural wine. Nice quite enough acid to cut through the cheesiness or a cream sauce pizza but incredible before dinner! A whisper of effervescence and made me say "yum!"

Strange... somewhat tasteless, I can’t quite understand this...

Serious Chenin! Getting towards the full bodied end of the spectrum. Curious if there’s any RS at 11.9% alc. Honeyed lemon and pear on the palate, which is very slightly waxy. Want to lay a couple of these down.

Great Chenin! Perfect for a summer day or lighter meal. Not as good as D Wade’s but could be worth it if at BP.

Everyone has said pear, and I wholeheartedly agree. Acidity is too low for Chenin, and the finish has an oak-y, oleaginous character. I’m not sold, but I’m also not turning down a second glass to see how it develops.
