Fess Parker
Santa Barbara County Chardonnay
The 2023 Chardonnay soars from the glass with striking aromatics. Hints of apricot, lemon peel, white flowers and crushed rocks follow. Effortless and gracious, this blend of sites yields a Chardonnay of notable complexity, while a touch of Hungarian oak adds an attractive spicy character. $22.00 (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, August 2024)

Aug 30th, 2024Say what you will about Fess Parker, but this wine punches above its weight given the lakes of sub par Chard pumped out of California.
Nice balance. Not over the top. Good acidity and length.

Medium lemon with aromas of stone and citrus fruits with floral and flinty notes. On the palate flavors of apple and lemon citrus, smooth with a crisp texture, lively acidity. Medium+ finish ending with citrus fruit and savory mineral character.

Oct 14th, 2021Lots of apple blossom and well balanced toasty creaminess. Nothing complex but very enjoyable. More middle of the road style in terms of richness. Not bad for $15.

Aug 16th, 2021Very little oak on the nose and palate, which is just what I like with my chardonnays. Nice golden color with notes of green apple, pineapple and plantains on the nose as well as a yeasty lees characteristic on the palate. Ever drinkable with a roundness to it.

Jan 18th, 2017Straw colored in the glass. Butter and Apple on the nose. Medium body on the palette. Highly acidic on the finish. Nice long finish as well. Not a heavy Chard which is the way I like it.
