Dark brooding scarlet. Opaque. Great old red wine nose. Notes of dark red fruit, unsweetened chocolate, cranberries, wood desk and a little cinnamon. Great balance of mellowed fruit and tannin in the mouth. I've had this quite a few times and I love this rioja, and I think this is at its apex.
