2017 Favia Oakville. Amazing wine, maybe the best ‘17 Napa I’ve had. Fantastic nose, loads of ripe purple and blue fruit, solid minerality, full bodied, big fruit, tannins silky and smooth, structured perfectly, drinking very well right now with 45 min decant. Lovely long finish. So good!

Feb 13th, 2024This bottle was a good bit more closed than my previous. Nevertheless, after about an hour of air it came into its own. A near perfect wine. Ripe dark fruit, firm and softened tannins, great minerality. Medium finish. A gem, but this bottle is more like a 97 than the last 99.

Nov 21st, 2023Just had this wine about a month ago and so glad to have it again. Perfection in a bottle. Deep dark ripe fruit, dense mouthfeel, plush yet dense tannins. Just spectacular with a nice long finish.

Dec 4th, 2022Nice ripe black fruit on the nose. Dense plush yet supple tannins hold together a gorgeous black fruit forward taste with an incredibly plush mouthfeel. Crème de cassis, lead, graphite, dark chocolate. Big and bold, incredibly structured. Finish that lingers for 45+ seconds. Drinking fantastic pnp now. Could have decades left, but I doubt my last few bottles will make it that long. Amazing wine from Andy Erickson that JD gave a 99, and is tasting almost perfect now.

Energisk med bra volym och struktur. Dekanterade några timmar och kändes tillgänglig. Frukten är lite mer återhållsam på Napa-spektrat. Mycket kryddighet, nästan lite exotisk. Men med druvtypisk frukt tillsammans trampad jord, blommor och mineral. Riktigt starkt avslut.

Dec 30th, 2021Very well balanced, that’s what stands out here. Nice ripe red fruit and very good minerality, long finesse finish. It kept getting better as it opened up. This one will age wonderfully. JD rated 99.
