A really nice, aged Chianti with a nice earthy gravelly character. Some very dark, sweet cherry fruit on the nose as well. Soft and rich in the mouth, but with nice minerality and acidity. Very good length. Very “together” wine. Peaking.

I want to cellar this 3-5 more years. Still primary. I'd like some secondary aromas...a very nice recommendation from the Wine House, LA

A classic Classico. Great nose of dark, gravelly minerals, cured pork, and dark cherries. Very intense attack, with tons of minerality and deep dark cherry extract. Lively acids balance the intensity nicely. Still a bunch of soft but puckery tannins. Still on the upswing.

2009 is generally great year for Italian wines. This Chianti is a treat. What Chianti should taste and well balanced. That’s all I could say.

Red berry burst and licorice vanilla twist. Bright, sweet & sour black cherry. High end of fresh, good w/ dinner, a bit edgy alone. Classic #Chianti Classico Viticcio Riserva 2009

Susan loved it. Me, not quite as much. Maybe should have cellared it more. I thought it was out of balance and some oak dominated the finish. Liked to non reserva better
