I’m not sure what to make of Selvapiana yet. This, like the 2 other young examples I’ve had recently, showed some green flavor notes, alongside good fruit and good length. (I don’t recall anything like that in the few older ones I’ve tried.) interestingly, this bottle was more vigorous on night three. So, limited data, but seems these want both age and lots of air.

May 1st, 2020My wife has been all about a specific bottle of Chianti Classico and decided to give this one a go based on a recommendation. I think she’s crazy for wanting to rate it lower so this rating is a compromise. I enjoyed it.

Mar 2nd, 2021This is the elegant side of Sangiovese. Light in color, packed with beautifully pure red fruits. It's incomprehensible how a 13 dollar wine can be this good.
Amazing and surprising paring with Al Carbon tacos and Pollo Mole.
