Black cherry and salvia. Soupy, short, and lacking cut. Perfectly fine, were it $9 entry-level Chianti...which it isn’t. Sadly, I’m expecting a lot of 2015s to be like this. #rufina #sangiovese #tuscany

Probably needs a few more years, but a classic example of Rufina Chianti.

Rufina worth reaching for. Tannins, acidity, fruit all playing a wonderful Symphony together! Had another bottle of this last night, & got a great floral character in the mid palate. Just enough complexity to keep the recipient engaged.

Surprisingly transparent - I’m used to much more color to Chianti and perhaps even more so from my preferred commune of Rufina. Still, classic flavors, and though I almost hate myself for saying this, it was pretty good with spicy pizza.

My favorite $15-20 Chianti over the last year or two. Always tasty, not too rustic, and not propped up with Cab or Merlot.

Perfect partner to homemade chicken parm tonight. Lovely red fruit up front, moderate acidity to cleanse the palate, and a smooth finish that’s less drying than some other chiantis in recent memory. A nice value, as well. Time to stock up on some more.

Young, fruit-forward - red cherries and leather. Mushroom and forest floor. Chalk. Bright but balanced acidity, supple, loving tannins. This wine delivers well beyond its years.
