2016. Clearly has serious chops but just too oaky and closed at this point, with a lack of acid or tartness to balance or enliven the dark fruit. A shame for such a concentrated wine - would expect the oak to better integrate over time but too dominant now. $80 at WL.

Absolutely baller Super Tuscan. Opulent nose, with a palate that makes you want more. Rich black sun soaked fruit with deep tobacco flavor. While still young and a little tannic, time is on its side with a couple of decades of drinkiblity.

Dark ruby coloration. On the nose, cherry, anise, tobacco, florals, vanilla and smoke (Smokey bbq). On the palate, dark cherry, anise, dark berry, chocolate, vanilla, smoked oak and espresso bean. Long finish of smoked oak, Smokey bbq, and espresso bean. Full body and nicely balanced. $80.00 at B-21.
