Fattoria Galardi
Terra di Lavoro Roccamonfina Aglianico Piedirosso
Best bottle since the '06 I had with vesuvian tomatoes. Well put together with just the right amount of bottle age to balance fruit, structure and softness.

Nov 11th, 2015Perhaps my favorite red wine produced in the contiguous south of Italy. This vintage is all over the place with camphor, creosote, tar, tobacco. I have to meet these people this year. I have an amazing story about this wine. Nic and Diane, do you remember the amazing "sleep under a bridge meal"?

Jan 2nd, 2015Plum, beets, camphor, & tobacco nose. Nice depth of flavor. More tobacco notes on palate. Great acidity! Will like to see how this develops.

Oct 10th, 2014Crazy young. First tasted 2011 last year at Vinitaly. Seeming to track like 2009.

Mar 12th, 2014Plan B! Nice bottle, although took it probably 30 minutes to kind of blow off a lil bit of funk. Poured with a slight violet hue. The initial notes are floral, black cherry, clove, sweet tobacco and herb. The clove note blows off the bottle and replaced with a little more tobacco. Entry predominantly black cherry, sweet tobacco, and herbs. The middle of the wine has a bit of a green touch to it. The finish of this wine was a bit more acidic than I thought. Nice wine, and glad I have more back vintages as this 11 is a TOUCH young.

Sep 24th, 2017This wine is from Campania - a blend of Aglianico and Piedirosso. First time I have this blend - I'm amazed by the structure and complexity. This wine is deep purple, lead pencil, tobacco, black cherries, and integrated tannins. Definitely has all the right ingredients to age nicely.
