Finally getting around to posting wines from my annual Napa trip from two weeks ago. Always goes by quick! Lots of fun new stops this year.
The Fantesca property on Spring Mtn is gorgeous, and their tasting room at the winery is stunning. Really enjoyed getting to try more of their wines.
Tried both this 2013 and the 2015. Percentage make up escapes me, but both heavily dominated by cab as expected. On a table of their own, these would go quick as they are delicious Napa cabs...fruit abounds across the whole spectrum, though it’s mainly red and black. Cocoa dusted dates, cassis, currant, baking spices, and Ghiradelli black cherry chocolate. As with Heidi’s cabs, the tannin structure is big and age worthy, but the fruit here is ready for early enjoyment. However, I thought the chard and Pinot stole the show!

Actually think this is the ‘grace’. Each vintage is a different, all great things. Beautiful wine. Deep, layered, textured.

09' Fantesca All Great Things. 2 hour decanting!! 1st vintage of this wine. Heidi Barrett's blend.
I'm guessing predominately Cabernet. Definitely a Bordeaux blend. The color is dark red, almost black. Tons of fruit, soft integrating tannins, structure acidity. Well balanced blend. Did I mention FRUIT! A nice long decanting and Walla... Drinking now. How many great years in it ?

Full, dry, balanced. Big, bold, but not overpowering in anyway. Dark fruit forward, red berries on the finish. Lovely wine from Heidi Barrett.
