Ruby in color with lots of fruit and spice on the nose, cherries, raspberries, vanilla, black pepper. Medium in body and acid, slight tannins, but it balances nicely with the acidity and fruit. Cherry, licorice, some earth and more black pepper on the palate, I like that bite of the acidity and lingering finish.
I made a roast and it softens the tannins and acidity and brings out the strawberry and fruit flavors. I like it even more with food!
