This 6-year-old Malbec from Mendoza is still young, and a little harsh. I had it before and this time I let it open for a whole day.
Tangy and rich. Very extracted and a little unbalanced.

Deep inky Ruby color with complex aromas of berry fruits, floral, herbs and spicy nose. On the palate flavors, blueberry and cherry fruit with spicy herb, cacao, vanilla and toasty oak. Fine soft chalky tannins, well balanced, good acidity, long finish, almost creamy, ending with fruit, spice and earthy notes.

Smoking good. Really tight and reserved on opening, smoky, spicy, with a blanket of graphite, earth and herbs that took some time to unravel. The core of the wine was sensational - high toned, intense and hyper focused dark cherry and plum, with the herbs and spice notes still there, adding depth. Beautifully vivid and super expressive. So good with chocolate cake...

Took a minute to open up, but then was excellent - rich, medium leaning full bodied, mild fruit notes.

Right out of the cement eggs which they are convinced is the wave of the future for fermentation. Good earth tones, great back end with full fruit.

2012- this was a surprise, as I haven't been impressed with other Zuccardis until this one. Could have used a decant, but so flavorful. Also, how cute are these guys?
