Produced with fruit from younger vines. Dark ruby color. Aromas of wood smoke, forest floor and subtle dark berry notes. Flavors of tobacco, blackberries, black raspberry/cherry, pepper spice and roasted meat. Hints of dried herbs on the medium-plus finish. Medium tannins and acidity. Extremely savory and earthy. Better with food. Probably should look to try the Castagno (Old Vines) version of this wine down the road.

Apr 8th, 2026Dark ruby color. Aromas and flavors of ripe red and black berries, white pepper, dark chocolate and tobacco. Hint of baking spices on the finish. Interesting wine but does not smell or taste like prototypical Syrah to me. Thanks for opening this one, Kase!

Ok so this wine had a more of a fruit forward taste but should be noted minerals were light.
