Strong spice on the nose... baking spices, green pepper, anise? Spicy earth & underripe cherry on palate.

Medium translucent ruby. Restrained nose of red cherries, raspberries, and baking spices with whiff of flowers and herbs. Mid-weight Pinot with tannins which have softened and balanced acid. Sourced from one of the best vineyards in Oregon. 13.9% ABV.

Very few American pinots that I like. But evening land is always on the list. Delicious wine with layers of complexity. Fruity, earthy, balanced and just pleasing.

Just having then Evening Land Blue Label Pinot and in my store of choice just recently. I came across this 2012 Evening Land Seven Springs Vineyard Silver Label Pinot Noir. I picked this up for $44.99 and I am glad I did. At first opening these beautiful red fruit notes come wafting across my nose and linger making me want to just keep on enjoying the aromas. Cranberry, Raspberry, Clove and a pleasant herbaceous note. This wine for me definitely moves me and has that wow factor. Great fruit on the palate with notes of cranberry, cherry, and raspberry. There is a nice grenadine taste and minerality. Medium + acidity, medium low tannin, medium body and a very smooth silky mouth feel. This Pinot noir has everything I like in my Pinot Noir. Wine Spectator did rate this a 96.

Balance. Balance. Balance. Cherry citrus aroma, but full palate with an acidic lift on the finish.

Spice, fruit, earth, Oak all jump out of the glass. Layers and weight abound. A gorgeous tension supports the wine and leaves an ample finish.
