Nice Carneros Plnot. Layers of cherry. Good acidity. Perfect for our NYE meal of Rouladen, recipe from the old country.

Over the top. 14.2% and sweet to boot. Drinkable because at end of night but gosh did not enjoy. Hard to get subtle flavors of the 16 different clones when it’s banging you over the head.

Winemaker, Jon Priest, states that “superior grape growing diminishes the need for intervention by the winemaker.” Bright Ruby with rich red fruit aromas and complex spice. On the palate sweet cherry and raspberry flavors, light in body, fine layered spice and oak, a little more pronounced that recent vintages. Soft tannins, great mouthfeel, well balanced ending with slight earthy character. Very Nice! Consistent quality.

Had this in a recent blind tasting. Aged for 12 months, very pleasant light berry fruit aromas with slight undertones of earthiness. On the palate cherry and currants with subtle spice. I would consider this one of the lighter bodied CA Pinot’s I have tasted. Soft tannins lingering ending with a mineral tang. Nice, from their 1500 acre Grace Benoit Ranch in Carneros. Consistent quality from recent tastings.

Enjoyed this so much a few months ago, I just had to try another bottle. Aged for 12 months, very pleasant light berry fruit aromas with slight undertones of earthiness. On the palate cherry and currants with subtle spice. I would consider this one of the lighter bodied Pinot’s I have tasted. Soft tannins lingering ending with a mineral tang. Nice, from their 1500 acre Grace Benoit Ranch in Carneros. As good as previous bottle.

From the epicenter of the quake, Étude is one of the OG Carneros wineries, and continues to showcase how well the San Pablo Bay breeze & pinot noir get along.

Wow! Everything I love about Carneros in a bottle. Medium bodied, earthy and spiced with a bright core of red fruit and nice acidity. And a solid QPR at $34 to boot.
