The beginning of 8 Grand Cru White Burgundies from the excellent 2014 vintage. We knew the identities but not the order of serving. All 8 Wines were pale lemon in colour and had great acid structure typical of the vintage. Opened with hint of caramel oak. Good intensity on palate of citrus and cream. “One of the Montrachets?” I wrote in my notes. Good ripeness. Should live for ages.

Very complex nose. Typical Chardonnay notes of green apple and lemon, but everything was in balance on the palate. Very long finish.
