My friend brought this. Medium gold color. Nice weight. Reticent quiet nose at first. Doesn’t smell or taste like Chardonnay. Is it a white Rhône? After 3 hours in the glass this finally explodes out of the glass with notes of citrus, stones and spice. The acidity ramps up in a big way. Such a big wine. 94++. Give it 4-6 hours of air and it will reward you (assuming it avoided the POX, as this one did).

Medium gold color. Heavy in the glass. Tropical fruit nose. Notes of apricot, peach, lemon, tan spice and light dusty white earth. Rich and powerful in the mouth. Great core of fruit and acidity. Long lasting finish.

The beginning of 8 Grand Cru White Burgundies from the excellent 2014 vintage. We knew the identities but not the order of serving. All 8 Wines were pale lemon in colour and had great acid structure typical of the vintage. Opened with hint of caramel oak. Good intensity on palate of citrus and cream. “One of the Montrachets?” I wrote in my notes. Good ripeness. Should live for ages.

Super honeyed and luxurious supervised by acidity. No sense of mineral but not amiss.
