Eric Solomon
Coster dels Olivers Priorat Cariñena Blend

wow this had some serious funk upon opening, thought it might be a bit of Brett, but it turned to barnyard and then to just earthiness - deep ruby, semi-opaque, showed plenty of terroir, mineral "schistiness" along with delicate ripe red fruit, smoke, pepper, savory herbs and some florals. med bodied on palate, nice acidity & polish - very engaging and approachable style. dried herbs, red & black fruit, white pepper and plenty of minerality. cerebral entry level Priorato that is a pretty good bargain

The overall rating on here makes no sense. This wine is excellent at a great price.

Clean, very fruit forward. Could be stronger at the finish but if you like something that doesn’t linger this one might be for you.

Eric Solomon - for the most part - has a really good nose for Spanish wines: this is no different. Entry level Priorat with beautiful minerality & kirsch aromas mingled with white pepper & licorice. Really mouthfilling and suave on palate, generous w/just enough rigidity in tannins to provide approachable structure balanced nicely w/acidity. Lingering finish bellies $20 price point.

N8, mostly carigñan. Interesting and not overly oaked but wouldn’t buy again
