I suspect there is a tiny TCA taint when smelling this wine. A discreet cardboard scent that ruins the experience. There is rose petal, tar, raspberry, some fresh almond notes and a bit of heat too. The palate is not really tainted though. It's pretty easy going and round at first, with a some raspberry notes and a meaty, umami touch. Some width, some weight on the sides, almost a sweet thing before a great tannic wall that leaves a drying layer over a rather long raspberry, raspberry liqueur finish with that discreet black tea note and these superb umami notes. It goes on for a while. Too bad the nose is not clean...

Nose is alcohol and earth. Taste is oak, dirt, and bitter cherries. Digging something not so rustic.
