Kalk Pinot Noir

Wow. Just insane. Nose is brighter and redder than the Keuper but just as floral. It’s dripping with technicolor fruit. The florals are violets but they are a mixture of dried and fresh violets. There is a blackberry flower intensity here that is off the charts. Black cherry, but higher and more lifted than the Keuper. Palate is all cooling black fruits but it is as the nose suggests more high tones and it has this mineral freshness that just washes the palate that is incredible. This is thrilling wine. Like super thrilling. Big, ripe and juicy tannins and a very serious structure and unreal sapidity. Wow the tiny berry fruit intensity is remarkable. But this is more obviously structured than Keuper and seems more long lived and will take more time to get there. Nose has an aspect of unreal jelly donut. God’s jelly donut. Just glorious. Much younger now than Keuper but maybe more upside. Ok as this airs it gains an opulence in the mid palate and the fruit is more deep. This an iota better than the Keuper. A 9.8 now. And just loads of energy and freshness on the finish and insane minerality.
