It really was not that long ago, this was one of the top producers in the valley. Still a classic standard.
Smells of soft ripened bramble fruit. Tastes of well defined twigs and branches, light to medium body, hints of cotton candy, ripe plum, minty freshness. Like a jazz standard.

Surprised at the look of age on this wine. Youthful fruit is a bit quiet now but the structure is strong. Really enjoyed drinking this representative Willamette.

Tonight is a Willamette Valley Pinot Noir from Elk Cove. The nose has notes.of strawberry, cherry, raspberry, and mint. On the palate I get good notes of cranberry, bing cherries, red raspberry, clove, cola, and dusty soil. There are medium low tannins and medium high acidity. Overall an enjoyable Pinot from Oregon.

Just starting to taste the 13's, so I don't have a really good grip on the vintage yet. But it does appear that some wineries were challenged. This wine has light cherry on the nose and palate and is lighter in style this year with moderately high acid. It seems appropriate for the vintage and I prefer this style. In a perfect world, I would like more secondary nuances.
