Very expressive wine at this modest price. Unmistakable Dolomite character with lots of smoky, gamey components. Violets, wild blackberry, plum, peppercorn, savory dried herbs, cedar, licorice and a subtle umami inflection that is very suggestive of cured meat. Enough acidity to remain bright and lifted, and surprisingly soft tannins after just a quick splash in the decanter. This bottle may have been ever so slightly volatile but I would have a difficult time stating that definitively. Great wine for pairing with wild game- boar, venison, and the like.

Ruby, slight garnet tone, watery pink rim. Medium (plus) concentration and staining. Red and dark berries, smoke, sawdust, FUNKY (compost) and SPICY, baking spices, Brett and volatile acidity. Soft low tannin, velvety, low acidity.

Deep garnet with little violet specks and an enticing nose of dried cherries, wild strawberries, and spice. As rustic as it is classy, this is a pretty classic Lagrein with soft tannins and bright acidity. More than enough funky earth to keep things interesting. This has personality and presence for days. An innate creaminess and herbaceousness on the palate, followed by boysenberry, cocoa, and more spice. The longish finish features thyme and moist earth.

Inky purple-red, moderately extracted pigment. Barrel smoke with a hint of raspberry in nose. Blueberry, blackberry and meaty flavors, rounded mouthfeel, light on tannins initially. Slightly lactic, mineral finish. Some skin astringency. Two hours later, a grainy flavor like barley soup emerges in the finish.

Killer bottle for 19 buck. Brighter fruit and moderate tannins. Hint tar and BlackBerry. Nice acid. Perfect pizza wine!

Not overly aromatic with tart blue/black fruit and slight Brett from big French oak barrels. Not bad---but not great either.
