Eisele Vineyards
Pickett Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvginon
I’m surprised that Araljo had the temerity to bottle and sell what I consider to be absolute grape juice. Looks like a Pinot in the glass, and continued to underwhelm. Embarrassingly awful.

May 6th, 2024Still a baby, even for a baby baby Eisele. Dry as a bone and really good after some air.

Revising my rating a bit after a second glass: a little oak, lots of ripe red fruit, a little heavy on the tannins. Might be best in a couple years, maybe a bit of a system shock compared to the wines I've been drinking lately, but markedly more complex than I felt on first taste.

An American Can classic. Nicely done. Deep purple colour. Hints of chocolate and red berries and currants on the nose nice chocolate flavours and and dark fruit. Well balance - tannins well balanced but quite present - will last another 5 years plus a baby Araujo

1 person found it helpfulJun 20th, 2020Eisele Vineyards Pickett Cabernet 2018. Latour’s Napa project. Young, took 4 hours to open up to gobs of black fruit and some earth with only subtle oak. So big and concentrated without feeling over-extracted. Outstanding wine, already complex and will be so much better in 2-3+ years. $50 at JJ Buckley (sole distributor), now $75.
