The 2012 is absolutely mind blowing good. I decided to open a 13 to see how it would compare. It needs more time in the bottle. It wasn’t showing as I would have expected from this legendary vineyard. It was good but nowhere near as awesome as the 12.

Muted, understated nose of nectarines and pears, with a hint of caramel (which we suspect is age related).
Palate has the signature Bacigalupi presentation. Multi-layered with bright peach and fire-roasted fruits. Medium density and moderate sweetness make this a wonderful white burg clone.

This is firing on all cylinders. Probably the best Edge Hill chard we’ve tasted. Honied roasted almonds interplay with bright acidity, creating a nice tension on the mid-palate. Finishes with a balanced vibrancy.

1 person found it helpfulJul 25th, 2020I over chilled this, hence the nose is compressed, although butterscotch is prominent.. Palate is generous, while medium-bodied. A subtle presentation of stone fruits leads into coconut and spice. Finishes with delicate acidity. Consume this vintage now.

Perfect for a little basketball and then a little Monday night football. HTTR ! We have several bottles of this..I can always count on@Martin G Rivard to send a few bottles every now and then. Thanks as always!

Dec 19th, 201613' Edge Hill Bacigalupi Chardonnay. @Martin G Rivard Thank you for this must have bottle of wine. This 4 acres made up 40% of the Château Montelena 1973 chard. Decant this for 1 hour and enjoy. Wait patiently for 2/3 years.
