Had the '08 out of a 3L on Christmas eve. Earthy, some big tannins, with lots of dark fruit/currants. Would love to see where it ends up after another few years in bottle.

Color of ruby and purple, nice tears and clear. Nose of dark coffee, black cherry, oak, a bit vanilla, quite spicy in the nasal cavity, and some more dark fruits. Taste is smooth with mature tannins, well balanced acidity and sweetness, oak, zest, black cherry, peppery, ripe grapes, and some more sweetness. Aftertaste of nice earthy bittersweetness to balance out the sweetness. Crowd pleaser.

Heavy oak, peppery tonight and a little too dry. The full body aroma is very enjoyable
