Racy and tight. Very closed at first, then opened up just enough to enjoy classic Syrah. Nose and taste were straightforward blue and dark fruit. After an hour petrol notes appeared that overpowered the wine and dominated the finish.

Lovely aromas of dried meat, spice , lilac, dusty rose petals and a little white pepper. On the palate less than medium weight. One of Australia’s leading wines in this genre is Mt Langhi Ghiran “Langi” admittedly more expensive I would much prefer or Grampians Estate at Heathcote for similar money. Expected more from this Cote Rotie to be honest. Lacking in mid palate fruit from previous Cote Roties I have enjoyed. Disappointing.

Still fresh and bright and with terrific complexity and just a hint animalistic, smoked meats, espresso, sweet red fruits and a long silky finish.

Why we drink wine! Expression of Sarah in the place where it is best...and a vintage that allows us to look back at this great development as an act of nature! Simply memorable...can never forget! 1978 not 1918 😳

Elegant overall. Fruits are fading but still some presence of dark berries. Savory meats, wilted violet, beautiful acidity and touch of saline.

Wow this is beautiful. Dirty barnyard wet soil dark cherries nice acidity and balance. Layers of gripping fruit. Nice tannins and subtle finish

Really good. Loads of fruit. Smooth fully resolved tannins. A touch of meat and olives on top.
