Brune et Blonde de Guigal Côte-Rotie Syrah

A quiet and restrained noise. Damson and black pepper. Some pretty floral notes of rose and violet. A little under.

Needs time to integrate but lovely.

Deep purple, clear and fluent; the nose is typical with intense aromas of dark and red ripe fruits, minerality, spices and a board of charcuteries and some blood sprinkles; soft tannins, high acidity and a satisfying mouthfilling experience. Restrained and elegant rather than showy. At left is book of the evening; I have to read at least a few of her books before we meet in December.

My boy has a broken toe

Nicely expressive on the nose; all the toasty coffee and dried fig flavors , but sadly a touch past it’s prime.

Stunning! Velvet tannins, hints of mocha and coffee grinds, rich fruit, everything in balance!

Felt a little tired, or more aged than expected. Leather, game, and pepper coming thru. Storage issue?

Racy and tight. Very closed at first, then opened up just enough to enjoy classic Syrah. Nose and taste were straightforward blue and dark fruit. After an hour petrol notes appeared that overpowered the wine and dominated the finish.

Still super young new oak not fully integrated decant for tomorrow
