Riserva Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese

This is why I fell in love with Italian wine. Fuligni wines always show their temperament , elegance and rustic qualities with age. The smoky nuances penetrate both the dark, concentrated cherry fruit and the “old” wood flavor in the wine, as well this charred earth tone. Yet the tannins are integrated and create an aristocratic and velvety gracefulness. Could well stand 10+ years. Garnet color with its first hints of brick. Absolutely top class

Either the vintage is turning or this bottle was poorly stored. The ox was too much

Wonderful fruit. Delicious and luscious juice.

Still some life here but getting to the older wine phase.

Too old

Drank with a spiced lamb shank. Hints of pepper, black currant and graphite. Decanted for 3 hours. Drinking well.

Soft with a little punch of red leather

Beautiful with a few hours of air. Traditional brunello ...

Excellent! Rich and full bodied. Just what you look for in an aged wine who's profile might even grow with a few more years. If you can save it.

I sure wish I had more of this. Just singing after about 3 hours open.
