what is it about Syrah that makes me feel like I am anticipating a great meal just by smelling it? 40-50% whole cluster, uses amphora for a portion. Meaty, ripe red fruits, black olives, firm but open tannins. moderate acid. lovely.

This bottle did not disappoint. Bursting with berries and earth on the nose. Very well balanced and held up beautifully with a steakhouse dinner. But, wait five years and this will be special.

Deep purple with aromas of black currant, plums, cured meat, and sweet tobacco. Full-bodied with solid fruit flavors. Well balanced with grippy tannins. Nice finish on this wine. Solid effort, might even open up a bit more with a decant.
