Light gold color. Highly perfumed: honeyed citrus, cut grass, ripe tropical fruits, nutmeg and allspice. White peach, apricot and candied ginger flavors turn to creamy vanilla and clove. Wave upon wave of honeyed fruits; then a tightly-coiled finish as nervy acidity kicks in. Taut, structured back end. Drink now to 2016.

Heintz vineyard. Hand-harvested and sorted. Native alcoholic and malolactic fermentations. Aged 15 months in 50% new French oak. Bottled unfined and unfiltered. Released June 2011.

Layers of fruit. Great finish. Five years old and at its peak.

Magnum! Golden hue. Delicious. Great tension of fruit and acidity. Plenty of heft for a 2009 and def not over the hill. Perhaps at its peak?
